Education in Allen County

Allen County is home to several public and private elementary and secondary schools as well as a vocational school.  Nine public school districts scattered in local jurisdictions across Allen County are affiliated with the Allen County Educational Service Center,  which provides collaborative educational services to those districts.  Included among those schools is a vocational school, Apollo Career Center, serving both secondary and adult students. While,  Lima City Schools, affiliated with the Dr. Earl McGovern Educational Service Center, are home to nearly 4,200 students in four elementary schools, two middle schools, and two magnet schools as well as three high schools on the Lima Senior Campus.
