What is this Indicator?  This is the average science score for all schools in Allen County, Ohio on the Ohio Graduation Test (OGT) given to 10th grade students in March 2014 at public schools.
Why this is important?  This community indicator demonstrates the level of success on the OGT of public schools in Allen County, Ohio.  The March 2014 average Allen County, Ohio, science score and is compared to the Ohio standard score of 75%, which must be achieved by each student in each subject to demonstrate proficiency.
Technical Note:    OGT assessments are aligned to Ohio's Academic Content Standards in reading, mathematics, science, social studies and writing; students in Ohio high school must take the OGT to demonstrate proficiency in each subject area before graduation from high school.   The test is given in the 10th grade, if a student fails to pass the OGT in the sophomore year, there are multiple opportunities to take the test again.  The test is given in November, March, and June of each year.
