Public Safety
Public safety officials are charged with the
prevention of and protection from events that could endanger the
safety of the general public from significant danger, injury/harm,
or damage, such as crimes or disasters (natural or man-made).
Lima-Allen County has an extensive public safety network involving
local law enforcement, fire fighters, emergency medical services,
and Emergency Management Agency (EMA). Allen
County encompasses two cities, 12 townships, as well
as several villages, including eight incorporated and six
unincorporated villages. Many of these jurisdictions have
safety services at the ready should an emergency arise. The
