| What is this
Indicator? This indicator shows average seat belt use of
drivers at 19 pre-selected Allen County sites in the month of June
2011. |
| Why this is
important: Seat belts, when used, reduce the risk of fatal
injury to front seat passenger car occupants by 45% and light-truck
occupants by 60%. |
| Technical Note: Seat
belt observations were conducted based on a methodology developed
by Miami University in Ohio. Comparisons were made to other Ohio
counties utilizing the same methodology. |
