Indicator? This indicator shows the total number
of demand response passenger trips provided in 2010 area
residents by the Allen County Regional Transit Authority. |
| Why this is
important? Public transportation offers mobility for
local residents, particularly people with disabilities. Public
transportation offers a cost effective service that improves the
independence and overall quality of life for certain segments of
the population including the elderly and the disabled.
Public transportation is also beneficial because it reduces fuel
consumption, minimizes air pollution, and relieves traffic
congestion. |
