Indicator? This indicator shows the total number of
fixed route passenger trips provided in 2010o area residents by the
Allen County Regional Transit Authority. |
| Why this is
important? Public transportation offers mobility for
local residents, particularly people without cars. Public
transportation offers a cost effective service that improves the
independence and overall quality of life for certain segments of
the population including students, the elderly, the disabled and
residents with limited incomes. Public transportation is also
beneficial because it reduces fuel consumption, minimizes air
pollution, and relieves traffic congestion. |
