| What is this
Indicator? This indicator reflects the percent
of the vehicle fleet currently being utilized to provide
transportation services that are exceeding the manufacturer's
recommended useful life. |
| Why this is
important? The measure provides a general indication
of the extent to which the fleet is being adequately rehabilitated
and/or replaced. Transit systems adopt vehicle replacement
schedules that work to maintain the reliability and safety of its
services and vehicles. Such practices avoid a deterioration
of service, minimize road service calls and/or severe spikes in
rolling stock expenditures. |
| Technical Note:
Values are reported by the Transit Authority annually. Goals
are set by the Ohio Department of Transportation. |
