What is this Indicator?  This indicator reflects the percent of the vehicle fleet currently being utilized to provide transportation services that are exceeding the manufacturer's recommended useful life.
Why this is important?  The measure provides a general indication of the extent to which the fleet is being adequately rehabilitated and/or replaced.  Transit systems adopt vehicle replacement schedules that work to maintain the reliability and safety of its services and vehicles.  Such practices avoid a deterioration of service, minimize road service calls and/or severe spikes in rolling stock expenditures.
Technical Note:  Values are reported by the Transit Authority annually.  Goals are set by the Ohio Department of Transportation.
