Housing

Fair housing has been an emphasis of governments at all levels following the Civil Rights Act of 1968. Since its enactment, discrimination in the sale, rental, financing of housing on the basis of race, color, familial status, religion, sex, physical/mental disability, marital status or national origin has been illegal and penalized by civil penalties up to $100,000. The Ohio Civil Rights Commission enforces state laws against discrimination. Learn more about recognizing discriminatory practices or how to report violations.
